Weekly Verse - September 10th

Isaiah 41:10

To continue with our study on God’s strength in us, I want us to take a look at Isaiah 41:10. In this verse, we see one result of God’s strengthening: no reason to fear.

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee"

Fear is something we all deal with at some point in our life, but God makes it clear that we have no reason to fear when He is with us. If we have received Christ as our Savior, then He lives in us. The almighty, unconquerable God makes us His child. Over and over again in His word God commands His people to not be afraid. This makes ungodly fear a sin, but, praise God, He will help us overcome fear!

"Be not dismayed; for I am thy God"

I believe something we should all do when fear and anxiety creep in is to stop and take a moment to remember who God is and that He is our God. We can be encouraged by verses such as Psalm 62:7: “In God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.”

Strengthening, helping, and upholding

The God of the universe wants to be involved in your life. How wonderful is that?! He doesn’t promise ease, but He does promise to be with us. His presence will strengthen us and encourage us, and when we cannot stand on our own, He will uphold us.

This week, let this thought abide in your mind: God will strengthen me. We cannot combat fear in our own strength, but we don’t have to.

Isaiah 41:13: “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”

Have a blessed week,
